Comet 460S dual band antenna evaluation, by Karl Shoemaker

Introduction

The Author has been building yagi and omni antennas for decades. For this project it was decided to try some of the commercially made ones. This evaluation is for the Comet antenna for the amateur bands. It's a mobile type with an NMO mount. The design is conventional bottom-feed (voltage) 5/8 type of omni. The return loss figures were much better that the B10. The set the resonant point at the frequency you need to operate at, first take all the components out of the store wrapping. With the included allen (hex key) wrench, you can loosen the set screws to move the element for tuning.
