(no name) HYS-NA-701 whip

Introduction

The Author has been making commercial antennas for years. This is a report for a another commercially made one. The return loss is being 18 db, but way out of band and 8 on 70-cm.

A cable was added in line to change the figures of 5 db on 2-meters (near in-band) and 6 on 70-cm.

For HT use this is poor performance. There are other variables to the best (lowest) return figures, such as hand placement and type of radio. For example, some hand-held radios have more metal than others to which the former type helps improve that return level in many cases. This is below typical on the better whips.
