Introduction
The Author has been making commercial antennas for years. This is a report for a another commercially made one. The return loss is 5 db on 2-meters and about 0 on 70-cm.
For HT use this is not acceptable. The cable extension was not even considered at this point. There are other variables to the best (lowest) return figures, such as hand placement and type of radio. For example, some hand-held radios have more metal than others to which the former type helps improve that return level in many cases. This is below typical on the better subbys.
