Introduction
The Author has been making commercial antennas for years. This is a report for a another commercially made one. The return loss is being 6 db, slight;y out of band, and 2 on 70-cm.
A cable was added in line to change the figures of 4 db on 2-meters (in-band) and 3 on 70-cm.
For HT use this is not acceptable. In conclusion, this is another example of low-end Chinese junk. In fairness it's very cheap; around $3-8 US. The construction, advertising and appearance looks great however, the electrical performed is bad. Some of the advertisements talk about "gain" on both bands (wrong). This is just part of false selling tactics. There are other variables to the best (lowest) return figures, such as hand placement and type of radio. For example, some hand-held radios have more metal than others to which the former type helps improve that return level in many cases. This antenna could be used as a receive-only device.
